Hans van Driel
Chairman
Founder of Kidshare
Statement from the founder
As founder and chairman of the Kidshare Foundation, I am driven by a deep concern for children growing up in poverty. As a development economist and accountant, I have seen the harsh reality of many children who do not have the same opportunities as children in wealthier countries. They live in harsh conditions and often have no access to education or basic necessities. This injustice prompted me to found the Kidshare Foundation with the aim of making a real difference. We are committed to a better future and have set ourselves the ambitious goal of building at least 100 schools in Africa. Together we can bring about lasting change. Invest with us in the future of these children.
Paul van Hoof
Programme Manager
In the 35 years that I have worked in more than 25 countries in Africa and Asia, I have seen how eager children are to learn, even in difficult circumstances. Education, which we take for granted, is denied to many, especially in rural areas of Africa. Every year, Kidshare gives hundreds of children the chance of a better start. It is close to my heart to pass on the knowledge and experience I have gained. The children's smiles are the best reward.
Diana van Dijk
Manager of the Top Girls programme
As a Senior Lecturer at the Institute for Social Training at the Hogeschool Rotterdam, I have extensive research experience in the Netherlands, South Africa, Ghana and Uganda and am involved in national and international research on (young) refugees. Through my involvement with Kidshare, I am committed to promoting the development of children - especially girls - and young women through (higher) education. From my educational experience, I know how important a good start through pre-school education and the opportunity to continue studying is for the development of children.
Gea Dekker
Secretary
In the late 1980s, I spent time in several West African countries and got to know people in different circumstances - an enriching experience. It was there that my commitment to people living in poverty and my advocacy on their behalf began. Convinced of the important role that education plays in this context, I was asked to become a board member of the Kidshare Foundation in 2012. Not least because of my work as a psychotherapist, I attach great importance to a good start in life for children. I am therefore very pleased about our focus on pre-school education projects. Through the TOP girls' project, I can see how a helping hand, financially and mentally, can lead to big positive changes for the girls.
Christina Kebbel
Project manager Tanzania
As a German with a Dutch business degree, I am grateful to be part of the kidshare foundation, an organisation that implements projects with local partners, incurring minimal administrative costs while having a great impact on the next generation in our focus countries. Working in Southern Africa for the German Ministry for Development Cooperation has given me a better understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing people and communities in these areas. I am convinced that through targeted education initiatives - starting with young children - we can bring about lasting change.

Christina Kebbel
1st Executive Board
As an industrial engineer, I have been working in the field of renewable energies for 16 years, having gained valuable experience as a development worker in southern Africa. I am deeply convinced that education is the key to many challenges, such as empowering women, fighting poverty and protecting our environment. Access to education not only changes the lives of individuals, but also strengthens entire communities. That is why I support kidshare and promote early childhood education.
Petra Scherweit
2nd Executive Board
I am a business economist and have worked as a human resources manager in various companies in the energy sector since 2007. I discovered my great passion for the African continent, especially East Africa, on my first trip in 2012. Since then, I have been actively supporting various development projects and, since 2024, Kidshare Deutschland e.V.
Franz-Josef Schmidt
Treasurer
As a retired doctor, I am still very interested in people's health, especially mental health, with a focus on education. To support the education of children in poor countries, I discovered the Kidshare Foundation. I was immediately impressed by their successful work in Africa. Through the Rotary Club Diepholz-Vechta, we helped to build three schools in Kenya and a kindergarten in Tanzania. A visit to the schools confirmed to me that I had made the right choice. These children are eager for education and can change their lives as a result. They deserve the chance to lead a self-determined, successful life. I am now active with Kidshare Deutschland e.V. to promote this mission in Germany.
