What a celebration it was! Last month, we opened a new preschool with Kidshare in the far north of Uganda. A very poor area where children have no chance without good education. The parents had built a mud hut there. There, the children were taught on the ground in the dusty sand.
I realized this again recently when a cheerful message arrived on my smartphone. It was a photo. In the photo on the right, you see a preschool we opened in February of this year in a remote village in Tanzania.
We built 10 preschools and equipped a primary school with water and shower facilities. 28 bright girls who would otherwise never have been able to afford their school and university education have graduated. We are very happy about this!
In Tanzania, we work with two partner organizations. We're working with them to build kindergartens in remote villages. TAWREF is one of these partners. We've received good news from them.
