Together with the people

What a celebration it was! Last month, we opened a new preschool with Kidshare in the far north of Uganda. A very poor area where children have no chance without good education. The parents had built a mud hut there. There, the children were taught on the ground in the dusty sand. The school had been running like this for thirteen years, even during the coronavirus period. Last year, we visited this village. I was very impressed by the dedication and determination of this community, the strength of the preschool teachers. We chose this village as our first choice for a new school this year. What a privilege it is for Kidshare to build a new school building here together with the people of the village. Together, that's a real celebration! In the photos, you see the old school building and the new one. We have already built 10 preschools this way in Uganda.

Last year, we achieved record revenue. We were able to build six new preschools, four in Tanzania and two in Uganda. This has allowed us to provide access to primary education for many children in remote villages in impoverished rural areas. In this way, we offer them real opportunities for a better future. That is what drives us. Would you like to read more about it? Here is the link to our 2025 annual report.

It had to remain a secret. I caught the train to Haarlem very early in the morning. There, our chairman and founder of the Kidshare Foundation, Hans van Driel, was to receive a royal honour. Mayor Jos Wienen praised Hans’s dedication and enthusiasm, which have made it possible for Kidshare to build 66 schools in several African countries.
