In 2024 we visited a new project of our partner Hongera foundation. It was their highest priority. When we got there we understood why. There were 716 students in this primary school and they only had 7 classrooms. That's not possible!
The teachers do not have their own office and rooms. The number of students is growing rapidly and new classrooms are urgently needed. In 2019 there were 490 students and now, in 2024, 716. What is very positive is that the parents here ensure that the children get a meal at school. The plan is to build 3 new classrooms here and a building for the staff and management of the school (administration block). In this project, the parents, the government of Kenya, Hongera foundation, foundation Wilde Ganzen and Kidshare foundation will join forces. The contribution of Kidshare foundation is 42,000 euros.
