We kunnen op je rekenen.<br>Dit is Brian. Ik wil je vragen om hem te helpen. Doe je mee?<br>Ik ontmoette hem in een dorp op het Keniaanse platteland en sprak eerst met zijn moeder Jane. Jane was gehandicapt en alleenstaand. Ze woonde met haar drie kinderen in een lemen hut.<br>Ich lachte Brian an. &#8222;Wie alt bist du? &#8222;, fragte ich. &#8222;Sieben&#8220;, sagte Brian. Ich erschreckte mich vor seinem dicken B\u00e4uchlein. Ein Zeichen von Hunger. Sein kaputter Pullover verh\u00fcllte kaum seinen Bauch. Ich sprach noch kurz mit seiner Mutter Jane. &#8222;In unserem Dorf ist keine Schule. Die n\u00e4chste Schule liegt hinter der Kuppe. Das ist zu weit weg f\u00fcr unsere Kinder, deswegen m\u00f6chten wir hier eine Schule gr\u00fcnden.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Ich nickte. Brian ist in diesem abgelegenen Dorf geboren und in Armut aufgewachsen.
